College of Medicine
The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) first proposed a Doctor of Medicine program in the mid-1990s but shelved it when another university in Ilocos Sur launched a similar program. Interest was renewed in 2011 when the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital expressed support, leading to a feasibility study. In 2012, MMSU decided to establish the College of Medicine. After years of preparation, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granted approval to operate the program in 2015. In 2019, the college received its Certificate of Program Compliance and graduated its first batch of 14 medical students. This achievement marked the culmination of extensive preparation and dedication from the university and its partners.
