Center for Inclusive Early Childhood Education


The MMSU-CIECE is responsible to help develop children (typical or atypical) holistically in an inclusive setting during their formative years. It serves as a laboratory center of pre-service teachers taking Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) and Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) degrees. It offers hands-on experiences in handling both typical and atypical learners, and serves as a model center for other Teacher Education Institutions and preschool centers.
The center also functions as a training hub for Child Development Workers and Teachers participating in the Early Childhood Education Program (ECEP), conducted by MMSU-College of Teacher Education in partnership with the Early Childhood Care and Development Council (ECCDC). Also, a venue for various undertakings in line with Gender and Development (GAD). Lastly, this center materialize the vision of the college in establishing a Regional Training Center for Early Childhood and Special Needs Education (RTCESNE).
With these positioned perspectives, the center’s functions are aligned with the four-fold functions of the university – instruction, research, extension and production.
