The Mariano Marcos State University–Graduate School (GS) hosted its 2025 Research Colloquium on June 28 at the Center for Flexible Learning, showcasing 15 multidisciplinary research papers by graduate students.
Dubbed “Growth and Synergy: Fostering Multidisciplinary Research and Innovations in the Graduate School for International Recognition and Publication,” the research colloquium is themed “Uniting Disciplines through Research towards Global Reach and Impact.”
Dr. Doreen Domingo, Dean of the Graduate School, emphasized the importance of continuing such events because they disseminate valuable research findings that can benefit various communities.
MMSU President Julius Virgilio Manzano, Jr., represented by Vice President of Academic Affairs Aris Reynold Cajigal, highlighted that GS has long been a hub for new knowledge, groundbreaking ideas, and transformative technologies.
“But truthfully, many of these knowledge products, which are rich with potential, remain hidden in printed theses or digital folders. It is time to let your work breathe and be seen,” he said.
In his plenary talk, Dr. Pranay Pandey, an assistant professor from Bhatter College in India, shared insights on multidisciplinary research and innovations from a social science perspective, enriching the academic discourse.
The research presentations were divided into two tracks: Track 1 and Track 2.
Track 1 focused on education, language, literature, humanities, and culture, featuring papers on topics such as instructional materials, teachers’ competencies, disaster risk management programs, and cultural studies.
Evaluators for this track included Dr. Romelyn Lagura, Dr. Marc Paul Calzada, Dr. Mark Joseph Pastor, Dr. Jay-ar Cristobal, and Dr. Vida Antonio.
Track 2 covered agriculture, food and natural resource management, management, public administration, governance, as well as mathematics, ICT, and engineering, with papers on microbial assessments, aquaculture, and integrated flood control systems.
Evaluators for the second track were Dr. Peter James Gann, Dr. James Paul Madigal, Dr. Bethany Grace Calixto, and Dr. Honeylou Farinas.
