Waste Management Program
The University implements an Integrated Waste and Pollution Management Program spearheaded by the Pollution Control Unit (PCU) and the General Services directorate. The PCU was designated with Pollution Control officers.
The program aims to develop an implementable and doable integrated waste and pollution management program of the University consistent with the provisions of existing waste management and environmental laws. Specifically, the objectives of the programs are as follows:
- To promote W&P management and awareness and participations of all constituents (personnel and students);
- To identify and involve W&P management coordinators per unit;
- To develop W&P management strategies to be implemented;
- To identify and involve entities/unit responsible for each waste flow or waste management strategy
- Promulgate appropriate rules, guidelines and policies concerning the implementation of the integrated W&P management program
The Integrated Pollution and Waste Management Program (IPWMP) framework serves as the guide in the implementation of the strategies and actions in the sustainable management of wastes to maintain a safe and healthy learning and working environment for the MMSU community.
